Us, hard working people tend to work a lot. We’re aware if it and we don’t mind it. In fact – we all feel it’s in our blood! Our mind is set to that goal and believes it can, but our body doesn’t hide it can’t keep up the tempo we’re pushing.
We like being plugged in and available all the time, but we tend to forget benefits our carrier would have from taking time off.
So, let’s remind ourselves why we need a vacation, and how we can benefit from it.
1. We Get Better Perspective
While in `working mode`, we tend to focus hard. By working long time under pressure, we focus on projects, contacts & short term goals really well. This tends to become trend as we work more.
Some time off helps us relax a little bit, forget about urgent issues, and look back at the work. This helps us see larger picture, notice good and bad and put all the thoughts together.
We profit greatly from having this different perspective.
2. We Get Fresh Ideas
After some time without stress, we naturally start thinking about previous goals and what we achieved, as well the future goals. Relaxing helps us see clearer and re-evaluate what was done. This is when fresh ideas about the future come to life.
These fresh ideas help us determine what we want to do next in terms of our career and our current state.
3. We Charge Our Batteries for a New Round
Finally, we are inspired and vacation helped us refresh. This changed environment help us great deal in charging our batteries. When we get back to our work, we have more energy to do work we left, and focus on the future.
Final note: When working, we focus hard and work as much as we can. Vacation is here to help us recuperate, and is as important as work. So, it is really important to do it properly, just like our work. We need to turn off all the devices that could pollute our time off, and try to keep our head clear, as otherwise we don’t do any good to ourselves.
